In this case, for 1st cycle (Undergraduate and Integrated Master) courses, applications must be made through the National Application for Admissions to Public Higher Education
(Concurso Nacional de Acesso ao Ensino Superior Público - CNA), the primary path of access to higher education in Portugal.
Are you a non-EU national who has been legally residing with your parents in Portugal for more than 2 years?
In this case, you are equivalent to a European Union national and you enjoy the same status as a Portuguese student, benefiting from the same conditions of admission to all courses offered by Iscte. Please read all the information under Heading 1.
Can you benefit from the International Student Statute (ISS) at Iscte?;
International students who do not hold a Portuguese or another European Union country
can apply under the "International Student Statute (ISS)", a special admission contest for international students created in 2014 to regulate admissions to ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa to 1st cycle courses (Undergraduate and Integrated Master degrees). Eligibility Guidelines for ISS:
- applicants may not be enrolled at Iscte as exchange students under international mobility programs established through agreements with the objective of academic exchange;
- neither non-European Union nationals nor their parents may have lived legally in Portugal for two years, uninterruptedly, by the 31st of August of the year in which they apply to Iscte.The period of the residence permit for studies does not count as the time of legal residence in Portugal.
- applicants who have a non-Portuguese EU State nationality as well as one or more other nationalities can only apply if they do not reside permanently in that EU State;
- applicants may not have entered another Portuguese Higher Education Institution through the special access and admission competitions organised nationally by the Portuguese Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES).
