A cidade de Lisboa revela-se intrinsecamente relacionada com a morfologia do seu suporte natural. Intervir sobre a cidade implica compreender esta relação primordial, responsável pela estruturação da paisagem, e consequentemente interpretar o espaço, a vida e a sociedade que gera, de modo a garantir o bom funcionamento deste ecossistema a par da continuidade do seu processo de urbanização. Neste sentido, é conduzida uma análise através de um olhar desde a escala do território, pela cidade, à escala da habitação e do seu utilizador, culminando numa síntese como resposta prática à procura de uma arquitetura que introduza em diálogo a cidade, que importa consolidar, e a natureza, que se procura preservar. A intervenção insere-se no limite entre o Parque Florestal de Monsanto e o território da Ajuda/Alcântara refletindo sofre a possibilidade de consolidação urbana por meio da continuidade da estrutura ecológica, de forma a rematar a paisagem de Monsanto e atenuar as barreiras existentes entre as duas realidades. Entre a terra e a água, a cidade e o natural, o coletivo e o privado, o projeto parte da intenção de transformar este limite numa oportunidade de ligação, segundo uma perspetiva pragmática em relação às formas de habitar contemporâneas e a sua relação com o meio ambiente.

The city of Lisbon is intrinsically related to the morphology of its natural support. Intervening in the city implies understanding this primordial relationship, responsible for the structuring of the landscape, and consequently interpreting the space, life and society it generates, in order to ensure the proper functioning of this ecosystem along with the continuity of its urbanization process. In this sense, an analysis is conducted through a look from the scale of the territory, through the city, at the scale of the house and its user, culminating in a synthesis as a practical response to the search for an architecture that introduces into dialogue the city, which is important to consolidate, and nature, which is sought to be preserved. The intervention is part of the boundary between the Monsanto Forest Park and the territory of Ajuda/Alcântara, reflecting the possibility of urban consolidation through the continuity of the ecological structure, in order to complete the landscape of Monsanto and attenuate the existing barriers between the two realities. Between land and water, the city and the natural, the collective and the private, the project is based on the intention of transforming this boundary into an opportunity for connection, according to a pragmatic perspective in relation to contemporary ways of living and their relationship with the environment.
