As redes sociais vieram, desde a sua criação até aos dias de hoje, facilitar a vida quotidiana de cada indivíduo, ao proporcionar um acesso quase imediato à informação. Contudo, há males que advêm dos usos do digital, sendo os cibercrimes exemplo disso, mais concretamente o stalking online. Este fenómeno resulta numa perseguição constante de uma vítima por parte do/a agressor/a, sendo que, na maioria das vezes, a vítima é mulher. Neste jogo de poder, em que um se revela dominante e o outro o dominado, não há como negar que as particularidades das plataformas digitais tenham um papel central na difusão destes delitos. Perceber quais estas particularidades e como se traduzem em fragilidades nos usos quotidianos do digital foi objetivo principal do inquérito ministrado. Como resultado, enfatiza-se a necessidade de se atualizar a legislação existente, de modo a fazer face à especificidade do digital. Salienta-se assim a necessidade de implementação de medidas que protejam quem passa por estes crimes por forma a que se possa, então, utilizar o espaço digital de forma mais segura.

From their inception to the present day, social networks have made everyone's daily life easier by providing almost immediate access to information. However, there are evils that arise from the use of digital technology, such as cybercrime, more specifically online stalking. This phenomenon results in a constant pursuit of a victim by the aggressor, and most of the time the victim is a woman. In this power game, in which one is dominant and the other is dominated, there is no denying that the particularities of digital platforms play a central role in the diffusion of these crimes. Understanding these particularities and how they translate into weaknesses in the daily uses of the digital was the main objective of the survey. As a result, we emphasize the need to update the existing legislation, in order to face the specificity of the digital. This highlights the need to implement measures that protect those who experience these crimes so that they can use the digital space more safely.
