Chinese Top Managers visit ISCTE-IUL

The First Portugal-China Doctoral Forum, an event aimed at deepening our knowledge on one of the largest economies in the XXI Century and at divulging the ISCTE-IUL activities in China, will take place at ISCTE-IUL this Friday, October 4th.

In the context of the Forum, 30 top managers from large private and state-owned Chinese companies, all of them students of the 2nd edition of the ISCTE-IUL Doctoral Studies Programme at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), will share their knowledge on the Chinese market, as well as attend doctoral courses.

This Doctoral Program, fruit of a cooperation protocol between ISCTE-IUL and UESTC, is the first doctoral programme offered by a Chinese University in cooperation with a foreign university which is officially recognised by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

According to the Rector of ISCTE-IUL, Luís Reto, "The First Portugal-China Doctoral Forum is of great importance, not only because internationalisation is one of the key strategic objectives of the university, but also because it consolidates ISCTE-IUL's capacity to export valuable know-how to highly competitive markets".

The Forum also aims at strengthening the privileged relationship between Portugal and China (two economies and two scientific communities), 500 years after Portugal reached China by sea for the first time.
