As part of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2013, ISCTE-IUL will host three exhibitions: “Close to cities, Closer to people” (ISCTE-IUL), “Ghost cities” (University of South Australia) e “Breathe: the air we share” (University of Technology of Sydney e Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University).
The goal of this exhibit is to create an event that is closely connected to the topic of the Triennale – Closer, closer – and that illustrates and questions the plurality of international urban intervention practices, from the urban space to its citizens, by focusing on different views and perspectives on current urbanism topics such as placemaking, air quality, citizen participation or an ageing population.
The main team behind “Close to cities, Closer to people” is constituted by Maria Rosália Guerreiro (ISCTE-IUL/CIES-IUL), Miguel Sales Dias (Microsoft/ADETTI-IUL), Pedro Faria Lopes (ISCTE-IUL/ADETTI-IUL) and Sara Eloy (ISCTE-IUL/ADETTI-IUL), reflecting the multidisciplinary work of all graduate and undergraduate students of the department of Architecture and Technologies and their professors.
The exhibition showcases work developed in the frame of the Lisbon Pedestrian Network, PocketCAVE, Ambient Assisted Living for All - AAL4ALL projects, as well as work produced by students and scholarship holders from ISCTE-IUL/ADETI and Microsoft in the areas of graphic computing and architecture throughout all three teaching levels.
The exhibition opens on September 30th and will stay in the ISCTE-IUL Exhibition Room (Building II, 1st floor) until the 4th of October.+ info: http://lisbonarchitecturetriennaleiscteiul.wordpress.com
