The Master in New Media Management is designed for all those seeking to synthesize management with the production of new media

Distinguished by the importance given to approaches and methods that focus on digital media, this master's degree seeks to provide:

· specialised training in the fields of management and applied strategy for new media

· knowledge and research in the area

Of particular note is the focus on entrepreneurship projects, giving students the opportunity to manage and create in innovative ways in this sector. This training will facilitate access to the following activities related to New Media:

· Business Communication

· Communication Agencies

· Digital Journalism

· Multimedia Communication

· Creation of Companies linked to New Media

· Consulting

· Marketing

· New Digital Business Models

· Digital Transformation of Public Administration

· Digital Marketing for Non-Governmental Organisations

Students on this Master's programme can enjoy a range of opportunities associated with the distinctive brand of Iscte courses:

1) a teaching staff with solid scientific training in the field;

2) guest lecturers with professional experience in the field;

3) a network of contacts that facilitates external internships;

4) the opportunity to take elective courses from other Iscte programmes, providing interdisciplinary training;

5) the opportunity to attend conferences organised by other programmes at the School of Sociology and Public Policy;

6) the existence of a vast network of agreements with foreign universities, enabling students to complete part of their studies at another institution through mobility programmes such as the Erasmus Programme;

7) the possibility of participating in research projects at the MediaLab, located within the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte), a unit rated as “very good”, where students can use the equipment available there to write their dissertation or project work.

Director(s) message

The Master's Degree in New Media Management combines management, innovation and critical thinking about digital transformation and its impact on business models. Through strong links with the business world and project-based learning, the course prepares students to design, manage and launch initiatives in digital media, combining strategic, analytical and creative skills. Among the skills to be developed are critical reading of platform ecosystems, project and team management, production and coordination of digital content and services, audience and metrics analysis to support decisions, and the ability to experiment and implement solutions in organisational and entrepreneurial contexts, including the creation of projects and start-ups in the field of new media.
