The Regulation of Students with Special Status at Iscte applies to students in undergraduate, integrated master’s, master’s and PhD programmes. The public defense of the dissertation, project, internship report and thesis does not have a specified time.

The current regulation applies across all the Iscte Schools, and details a range of special statuses according to the general legislation in place:

  • Student-worker
  • Student in military
  • Student leading a youth association
  • Student athlete at Iscte
  • Student athlete in high-caliber competition
  • Pregnant student, student who has recently given birth, breastfeeding student, and student mother or father with children of less than 3 years of age
  • Students with special educational needs
  • Student of a religious faith in which the day of rest or worship is not Sunday

The final section of the regulation also includes students with other special rights resulting from the following situations:

  • Death of spouse or parent
  • Appearance before police, judicial or military authority
  • Temporary incapacity
  • Class-representative

STUDENT-WORKER | APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Deadlines

  • 1st semester: within 30 days after the start of 1st semester classes
  • 2nd semester: within 15 days after the start of the 2nd semester

STUDENT IN MILITARY | APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

The special statuses of athlete at Iscte and leader of youth association grant situations of exception for those competing. The Iscte Student’s Union provides the lists of the students to whom these statuses apply.

RESULTS

The result of a special status application will be available in the student’s personal area on FÉNIX. It is the student’s obligation to consult this area regularly. Generally, student services will inform the student of the results of their application by institutional e-mail.
