Esta Tese analisa o imaginário social em Portugal, buscando perceber: os elementos que o compõe; as relações de poder imbricadas e como se constituem em racismo e sexismo; o seu impacto nas experiências de brasileiras imigrantes; e, os modos de subjetivação destas mulheres em Portugal. Empreende-se uma investigação teórica e empírica, organizada a partir do tripé analítico de inspiração foucaultiana: saber – poder –subjetivação. No primeiro capítulo desenvolve-se a perspectiva teórica e metodológica, a qual relaciona as perspectivas foucaultiana, feminista, descolonial e interseccionada; e, reflete sobre migrações, turismo, imaginários e a produção da diferença. Nos capítulos segundo e terceiro – através de entrevistas, análise documental e observação participante – analisa-se a construção da ordem discursiva de saber-poder em Portugal. Mapeiam-se os discursos turísticos e culturais (no terceiro capítulo) e os discursos do universo migratório (no segundo capítulo). No quarto capítulo investiga-se – através de entrevistas, observação participante e auto-etnografia – o modo como esta ordem discursiva afeta a experiência migratória de brasileiras, bem como, as diferentes formas de resistência a este discurso hegemônico, através das narrativas dos sujeitos. As conclusões apontam que as mulheres brasileiras são vistas como “corpo colonial” em Portugal, na medida em que são definidas, essencializadas e estigmatizadas através de características atribuídas desde o colonialismo histórico, relacionadas com a hipersexualidade. Referente aos modos de subjetivação identifica-se três formas pelas quais estas mulheres resistem e reexistem ao discurso hegemônico construído sobre elas: resistência passiva, afirmativa e combativa. O argumento central consiste em afirmar que: não sendo substantivo, nem essencial, é antes de tudo uma construção social, discursiva e performática, imersa em relações de poder históricas e em modos de subjetivação sempre reconstruídos.

This thesis analyses the social imaginary in Portugal, to explain: its constituing elements, the power relations involved and how they turn into forms of racism and sexism, its impact on the experiences of Brazilian female immigrants, and the modes subjectivity of these women in Portugal. It was carried out through a theoretical and empirical research, based on a analytical tripod of Fouculdnian inspiration: knowledge - power-subjectivity. The first chapter developed the theoretical and methodological perspective, relating the Foucauldian, feminist, decolonial and intersectionality perspectives, reflecting on migration, tourism, imaginaries and the production of difference. The second and third chapters - using interviews, documental analysis and participant observation - analyzed the construction of the discursive order of knowledge-power in Portugal. It mapped the tourist and cultural discourses (chapter 3) and the discourses about migration (chapter 2). The fourth chapter investigated – using interviews, participant observation and auto-ethnography - how the discursive order, affects the migratory experience of Brazilian Women, as well as the different forms of resistance to this hegemonic discourse, through the narratives of the involved subjects. The findings indicate that Brazilian women are seen as "colonial body" in Portugal. They are defined, essentialized and stigmatized through characteristics attributed by colonial history, related to hypersexuality. Regarding the modes of subjectivity, three types were identified illustrating the ways these women resist and re-exist the hegemonic discourse: passive, affirmative and combative resistance. The central argument is that: not being substantive nor essential is above all a social construction, discursive and performative, embedded in historical power relations and reconstructed modes of subjectivity.
