Este trabalho tem por objectivo contribuir para uma melhor compreensão da relação entre diferentes padrões de vinculação e expressões faciais de emoção em crianças. Recorreu-se a uma amostra constituída por 25 díades figura de vinculação – criança, tendo as crianças idade compreendida entre os 12 e os 24 meses. A recolha de dados foi realizada em três locais. Para a avaliação da qualidade da vinculação, utilizou-se o procedimento laboratorial Situação Estranha (Ainsworth, Blehar, Waters, & Wall, 1978) e para a análise das expressões faciais de emoção recorreu-se ao instrumento BabyFACS (Oster, 2009). A amostra é composta por 20 crianças com vinculação segura, 3 com vinculação insegura ambivalente-resistente e 2 com vinculação insegura evitante. Os resultados mostram a existência de uma relação significativa entre os padrões de vinculação e as expressões faciais de emoção, bem como uma associação significativa entre as expressões faciais de emoção e os episódios analisados da Situação Estranha.

The goal of this investigation is to contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between attachment styles and facial expressions of emotion in children. The sample was comprised of 25 dyads attachment figure-child and the children were aged between 12 and 24 months. The data was collected in three different places. The Strange Situation (Ainsworth, Blehar, Waters, & Wall, 1978) procedure was used to assess the quality of attachment and the facial expressions of emotions were analyzed with BabyFACS (Oster, 2009). In this sample, 20 children have a secure attachment, 3 children have an insecure resistant attachment and 2 children have an insecure avoidant attachment. The results show a significant relationship between different types of attachment and facial expressions of emotions and also a significant association between facial expressions of emotions and the analyzed episodes of the Strange Situation procedure.
