A presente pesquisa parte do questionamento acerca dos fatores que contribuem para a configuração das identidades femininas nas sociedades contemporâneas e quais os impactos das transformações contextuais, decorrentes de mudanças tempo-espaciais, na formação e transformação dessas identidades. Na procura de respostas, definimos como hipótese de estudo que a formação e transformação das identidades resulta de processos de construção social, influenciados pelas especificidades dos contextos tempo-espaço. Assim, propusemo-nos a observar os processos de formação e transformação de identidades, seguindo uma estratégia de pesquisa indutiva/abdutiva, que permitisse conjugar uma teoria flexível com uma metodologia criativa, tomando como elemento empírico central o caso concreto das mulheres residentes na Quinta do Loureiro. Este desenho empírico implicou que a estratégia metodológica definida fosse de caráter iminentemente qualitativo, com aprofundamento à escala individual através da utilização do método biográfico na construção de histórias e linhas de vida. A pesquisa conduzida evidencia a complexidade das identidades femininas, marcadas por encontros e desencontros, revelando que as trajetórias das entrevistadas são moldadas tanto por fatores individuais quanto estruturais. As transições habitacionais e ocupacionais revelam vínculos com desestruturações familiares e vulnerabilidades sociais, enquanto as trajetórias conjugais mostram uma antecipação para casamento e maternidade, com perfis variados que refletem mudanças sociais e históricas. As dinâmicas de pobreza e exclusão em locais como a Quinta do Loureiro têm um papel significativo na formação dessas identidades, refletindo como contextos sociais e históricos afetam as oportunidades e escolhas dessas mulheres ao longo da vida.

This research is based on the question of the factors that contribute to the configuration of female identities in contemporary societies and the impact of contextual transformations, resulting from time- space changes, on the formation and transformation of these identities. In the search for answers, we defined as a study hypothesis that the formation and transformation of identities results from processes of social construction, influenced by the specificities of time-space contexts. We therefore set out to observe the processes of identity formation and transformation, following an inductive/abductive research strategy that allowed us to combine a flexible theory with a creative methodology, taking the concrete case of the women living in Quinta do Loureiro as the central empirical element. This empirical design meant that the methodological strategy defined was of an imminently qualitative nature, with in-depth study on an individual scale through the use of the biographical method in the construction of stories and lifelines. The research conducted highlights the complexity of female identities, marked by encounters and mismatches, revealing that the interviewees' trajectories are moulded by both individual and structural factors. Housing and occupational transitions reveal links with family breakdowns and social vulnerabilities, while marital trajectories show an anticipation of marriage and motherhood, with varied profiles that reflect social and historical changes. The dynamics of poverty and exclusion in places like Quinta do Loureiro play a significant role in shaping these identities, reflecting how social and historical contexts affect these women's opportunities and choices throughout their lives.
