A Revolução 4.0 trouxe consigo uma transformação significativa no Direito do Trabalho, impulsionada pela introdução de tecnologias emergentes, como a Inteligência Artificial (IA), e pela digitalização dos processos produtivos. Este fenómeno resultou em mudanças profundas na estrutura e nas dinâmicas laborais, exigindo uma reformulação tanto das práticas empresariais quanto da legislação aplicável. A incorporação da IA no ambiente de trabalho tem gerado um duplo impacto: por um lado, providencia eficiência e otimização na execução de tarefas, por outro, levanta preocupações éticas e legais. O leque do desenvolvimento digital tornou-se tão extenso que obrigou a uma redefinição de conceitos de sempre tivemos por certos e vislumbrar o paradigma laboral com outros olhos. Com o presente trabalho pretende fazer-se exatamente isso, trazer á colação temas que estão na ordem do dia no mundo académico, mas que na prática ainda têm um longo caminho a percorrer. Propomo-nos a indagar sobre estas matérias, mais especificamente sobre o impacto da inteligência artificial na segurança e saúde no direito do trabalho.

The Revolution 4.0 has brought about significant transformation in Labor Law, driven by the introduction of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the digitalization of production processes. This phenomenon has led to profound changes in the structure and dynamics of labor, necessitating a reformulation of both business practices and the applicable legislation. The incorporation of AI into the workplace has produced a dual impact: on one hand, it provides efficiency and optimization in task execution; on the other, it raises ethical and legal concerns. The extent of digital development has become so vast that it compels a redefinition of concepts once taken for granted and prompts a reassessment of the labor paradigm. This study aims precisely to achieve that goal, shedding light on issues that are widely discussed in academic circles yet, in practice, still have a long path ahead. We propose to investigate these matters, focusing more specifically on the impact of artificial intelligence on workplace health and safety, within the field of Labor Law.
