No âmbito desta dissertação em Administração Escolar, foi conduzido um estudo de caso acerca do bullying escolar numa instituição de ensino situada em Sintra. Através de uma revisão bibliográfica foi elaborado um enquadramento teórico que explicita o conceito de bullying, incluindo estudos internacionais e portugueses. Também neste capítulo é mencionado o papel das lideranças escolares na gestão deste fenómeno social, relacionando o direito à educação com o impacto das situações de bullying nos alunos. O estudo de caso levado a cabo teve como objetivos caracterizar as situações de bullying existentes na escola do ponto de vista dos alunos e da equipa docente, assim como, caracterizar as perceções dos diretores de turma e da liderança escolar sobre os mecanismos de resposta existentes. Para tal foi aplicado um inquérito online aos alunos e entrevistas semiestruturadas aos docentes. Os dados revelam que 45% dos alunos são vítimas de agressões sistemáticas durante alguns dias a alguns meses. Estas agressões são incitadas frequentemente por estudantes do sexo feminino e principalmente no espaço exterior durante o intervalo. Os dados caracterizam os principais impactos sentidos nos agressores e nas vítimas. Os alunos revelam sentir alguma insegurança na escola, apesar de considerarem que a escola tende a dar atenção às situações de violência existentes. Verificou-se igualmente que existem diferenças de perspetivas entre os diretores de turma e a liderança escolar quando se fala do número de ocorrências e da respetiva gravidade. Apesar disso, no geral, toda a equipa educativa considera que a escola dá atenção ao bullying através de projetos e iniciativas.

As part of this dissertation in School Administration, a case study was conducted on school bullying in an educational institution located in Sintra. Through a literature review, a theoretical framework was drawn up that explains the concept of bullying, including international and Portuguese studies. This chapter also explains the role of school leaders in managing this social phenomenon, linking the right to education with the impact of bullying on pupils. The objectives of the case study were to characterize the existing bullying situations from the point of view of the students and the teaching staff, as well as to characterize the perceptions of the head teachers and the school leadership about the existing response mechanisms. To this end, an online survey was administered to students and semi-structured interviews were conducted with teachers. The data shows that 45% of students are victims of systematic aggression for a few days to a few months. These assaults are carried out by female students and mainly outside during break times. The data also shows the main impacts felt by both the aggressors and the victims. The students reveal that they feel insecure at school, although they feel that the school tends to pay attention to existing situations of violence. There are differences of perspective between head teachers and school leadership when it comes to the number of incidents and their seriousness. Despite this, in general, the entire educational team believes that the school pays attention to the issue of bullying through projects and initiatives.
