Numa época em que recentes tipos de investimentos emergem é normal que a temática dos investimentos seja cada vez mais falada e abordada e que o assunto esteja na ordem do dia. Não são só as grandes empresas que investem, mas também cada vez mais indivíduos a título individual optam por fazê-lo acabando por ver nos investimentos uma forma de obter mais uma fonte de rendimento. Neste contexto, o objetivo do presente estudo é avaliar se existe algum tipo de influência da personalidade do investidor a nível individual no perfil de risco do mesmo. Como objetivos secundários, pretende-se também estudar a influência de variáveis sociodemográficas no perfil de risco do investidor e classificar o nível de risco de um indivíduo numa escala numérica. Este estudo utiliza métodos quantitativos em que consistiu em obter os dados através do lançamento de um questionário numa plataforma online. Tendo por base uma amostra constituída por 490 inquiridos foi realizada uma análise descritiva, bivariada e regressão linear. Os resultados obtidos indicam que realmente os cinco traços de personalidade influenciam o perfil de risco e principalmente a abertura à experiência, a extroversão, a amabilidade e o neuroticismo. O individuo tipo que é mais propenso ao risco é alguém com grande abertura à experiência, bastante extrovertido, amável, relaxado e com baixos níveis de ansiedade e stress. Ainda foi identificado que outras variáveis sociodemográficas como o género, a remuneração mensal ou a idade também têm influência no perfil de risco do investidor.

At a time when new types of investments are emerging it’s normal that the topic of investments is increasingly talked about and addressed and that this is in the trends of the moment. It's not only large companies that invest but also more and more individuals who choose to do it and they see investments as a way to get another source of income. In this context, the goal of this study is to evaluate whether there is any influence of individual investor personality on the investor's risk profile. As secondary objectives it’s also intended to study the influence of socio-demographic variables on the investor's risk profile and to classify a person's risk level on a numerical scale. This study uses quantitative methods, which consisted in obtaining data by launching a questionnaire on an online platform. Based on a sample of 490 respondents a descriptive analysis; bivariate analysis and linear regression analysis was performed. The results obtained indicate that there are personality traits that influence an investor's risk profile. The meta person who is most prone to risk is someone who is very open to experience extrovert, friendly, relaxed, and has low levels of anxiety. The results obtained indicate that there are personality traits that influence an investor's risk profile and especially openness to experience, agreeableness, extroversion and neuroticism. The individual type that is more prone to risk is someone who is very open to experience, very extroverted, friendly, relaxed, and with low levels of anxiety and stress. It was also identified that other socio-demographic variables as gender, income or age also have an influence on the investor's risk profile.
