A presente dissertação centra-se em torno do teletrabalho, seus componentes e particularidades, bem como da regulação apresentada neste domínio. No decorrer da mesma, tivemos oportunidade de perscrutar em detalhe o mundo do teletrabalho, percebendo os elementos que o tornam singular e que fazem deste, provavelmente, o futuro do trabalho. Foi igualmente visada a compreensão da complexidade do modelo de trabalho estudado, o qual se reveste de uma multidimensionalidade superior àquela que é evidenciada num primeiro observar do mesmo. O prisma europeu é também abordado, esclarecendo-nos acerca das visões e ações apresentadas pela União Europeia. Da mesma forma, descortinámos o leque de reflexos positivos e desvantajosos desta modalidade laboral. As questões da privacidade e liberdades individuais foram exaustivamente tratadas, estando indubitavelmente ligadas à prática do teletrabalho, e fazendo ressurgir discussões relativas à proteção da vida pessoal dos trabalhadores. De igual forma, explicitamos os obstáculos, passados e presentes, que abrandam o progresso do teletrabalho. A pesquisa contida envolve a regulamentação observável no que ao teletrabalho tange ao nível da legislação portuguesa, assim como da negociação coletiva. Por meio desta dissecação, visámos obter uma conclusão acerca dos preceitos regulados, assim como dos possíveis aspetos que ainda necessitam de um olhar mais pormenorizado. Foi igualmente visado que o texto elaborado permita um conhecimento aprofundado, no que toca ao teletrabalho e ao seu meio.

The present dissertation revolves around telework, its components and particularities, on par with the regulation presented in this domain. During the same, we were granted the opportunity to look in detail at the world of telework, understanding the elements that make it singular, and probably, the future of work. It was equally envisioned a comprehension of the complexity of the type of work studied, which is characterized by a multidimensionality superior to the one evidenced in an early observation of the same. The European corner was also covered, showing us the visions and actions presented by the European Union. On similar fashion, we uncovered the myriad of positive and disadvantageous reflexes of this labor modality. The questions of privacy and individual liberties were thoroughly reviewed, in the sense that are undoubtably connected to the practice of telework, leading to the resurgence of discussions related to the protection of worker’s personal life. In the same manner, we explained the obstacles, past and present, which delay the progress of telework. The research within, involves the regulation observed, related to telework, on the level of the Portuguese legislation, as well as collective bargaining. Through this dissection, we seek to obtain a conclusion regarding the subjects regulated, and those that still need a more complete look. It was also envisioned that the text produced will allow a more in-depth knowledge about telework and its surroundings.
