No dia 1 de julho de 2025, o Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa recebe Jan Pries-Heje, Professor da Roskilde University (Dinamarca), para uma palestra intitulada: "A Successful Finance-Sector Case of Digital Transformation: Eliciting Four Design Principles”.

Este evento é organizado por Henrique O’Neill e Catarina Ferreira da Silva (Centro de Investigação em Ciências da Informação, Tecnologias e Arquitetura, ISTAR-Iscte), no âmbito da visita a Lisboa dos Chairs da International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2026): Isabel Ramos (Universidade do Minho), Jan Pries-Heje e Michael Rosemann (Queensland University of Technology).

A palestra abordará um dos principais desafios da transformação digital — como implementar mudanças estruturais profundas nas organizações. Com base num caso real de uma empresa europeia de fintech que presta serviços a bancos de pequena e média dimensão, o Professor Pries-Heje apresentará quatro princípios de design que contribuíram para o sucesso desta transformação digital. Estes princípios são aplicáveis a outros setores em processo de mudança semelhante.

A sessão é aberta à comunidade académica e contará com um momento de perguntas e respostas.

Digital Transformation in Action: Keynote by Jan Pries-Heje at Iscte

On July 1st, 2025, Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon will host Jan Pries-Heje, Professor at Roskilde University, Denmark, for a keynote talk entitled: “A Successful Finance-Sector Case of Digital Transformation: Eliciting Four Design Principles”.

This event is organised by Henrique O’Neill and Catarina Ferreira da Silva (Information Sciences, Technologies and Architecture Research Centre, ISTAR-Iscte), as part of a special visit to Lisbon by the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2026) Chairs : Isabel Ramos (Universidade do Minho), Jan Pries-Heje and Michael Rosemann (Queensland University of Technology).

The keynote will explore one of the key challenges in digital transformation — how to implement deep, structural changes in organisations. Drawing from a real-world case of a European fintech company serving small and medium-sised banks, Professor Pries-Heje will outline four essential design principles that drove the success of this digital journey. These lessons are relevant and transferable across sectors undergoing similar transformations.

The session is open to the academic community and will include time for questions and answers.
