A Mathworks, mais conhecida pelo MATLAB, vai dar um workshop de meio dia no ISCTE-IUL dia 3 de abril de 2017. O Workshop será no ISCTE-IUL porque é a única universidade em Lisboa a ter o novo modelo de licenças do MATLAB para todo o campus, alunos e professores/investigadores, que adquirimos em 2015.
O workshop vai focar-se em 2 tópicos que achamos muito atrativos para os nossos estudantes:
1) Machine learning
2) Uso do MATLAB para interagir com Arduinos e os mini-computadores Raspery Pi

Machine Learning with MATLAB In this session we will explore the basics of Machine Learning with MATLAB. Through several examples we will review the typical workflows for supervised learning (classification and regression) and non-supervised learning (clustering), with the aim of detecting patterns and constructing predictive models from their data: Clustering: Build data into groups Classification: Build a model to predict groups of new observations Regression: Build a predictive model from continuous observations Among others, techniques such as K-means clustering, discriminant analysis, decision trees, neural networks, linear, logistic and nonlinear regression, will be covered.

Project based learning with MATLAB, Simulink and low cost hardware
This session will present how to develop, simulate, test and implement algorithms on low cost platforms (Arduino, LEGO, Raspberry Pi, etc.) using MATLAB and Simulink, with the aim of facilitating teaching and learning using innovative methodologies such as Project Based Learning. |
