Antónia Pedroso de Lima graduated in Anthropology at ISCTE- University Institute of Lisbon (1987), has a MA in Urban Anthropology from Barcelona University (Tarragona, 1991) and a Ph.D. from ISCTE (University of Lisbon 2001). Professor at the Department of Anthropology at ISCTE since 1989, former President of CRIA, the National Research Centre in Social Anthropology (Portugal) and member of the scientific Committee of Openedition (CNRS) and LusOpenedition (Lusophone Countries) and was member of the National Committee for the Intangible Heritage (Portuguese Ministry of Culture). Specialist on kinship theory and contemporary family relations Antónia Lima is the author of Grandes famílias Grandes empresas. Ensaio antropológico sobre uma elite de Lisboa. (D. Quixote, 2003), “Partners and Relatives. Articulating Modernity and Tradition in Portuguese Large Family Firms.” and co-editor with João Pina Cabral of Elites: Choice, Leadership and Succession (Berg 2002) and she has published numerous papers on Portuguese urban family, focusing both on working class neighborhoods of Lisbon and on the Portuguese economic elite. Her present research interests are on Contemporary family relations, Gender, Care and Crises. She is currently PI of the following funded research projects “Care as sustainability in crisis situations.” (FCT PTDC/CS-ANT/117259/2010) and “Generations and governamentality: youth, aging and public policies in comparative contexts.” (Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian) and member of the steering committe of the Advanced Grant (ERC) “Grassroots economics: Meaning, project and practice in the pursuit of livelihood” Susana Narotzky, Universidatat de Barcelona.

Nélia Dias obteve a Maîtrise en Anthropologie et Sociologie pela Université René-Descartes ( Sorbonne) e o doutoramento na EHESS ( Paris) sob a direção de Pierra Nora.   É membro do CHEurope 'Critical Heritage Studies and the Future of Europe', H2020 Marie Curie, MSCA ITN, Nr - 722416 ( 2017-2021).  É diretora, desde 2013, do Programa de Doutoramento FCT em Antropologia, Politicas e Imagens da Cultura e Museologia, em parceria entre o ISCTE-IUL e a NOVA /FCSH, e três Unidades de investigação : CRIA, IELT e INET-md   Foi Visiting Fellow na University of Saint-Andrews ( Fevereiro - Abril 2018), Directrice d'études associée na Maison des Sciences de l'Homme/ Ecole Normale Supérieure ( Outubro- Dezembro 2017) , International Visiting Scholar, Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies, University of British Columbia (2016) e Visiting Scholar no Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin) onde levou a cabo, com F. Vidal, o projecto 'Endangerment and its consequences' ( publicação sob o titulo Endangerment, Diversity and Culture ( Routledge 2016).  Em 2009 foi Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities na Tulane University ( New Orléans) durante o fall semester.  Foi membro, entre 1998 e 2001, do Conseil du Patrimoine Ethnologique, Ministère de la Culture (France) e é desde 2019 membro do Conseil d'orientation stratégique de l'École Universitaire de Recherche (EUR).
