Accommodation

Iscte is expanding its student accommodation through a project funded under Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and the National Higher Education Accommodation Plan (PNAES). The project includes three university residences in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area: Odivelas, Amadora and Sintra. Currently, only the Odivelas University Residence is in operation. The Amadora and Sintra residences are under construction and will open after completion of the works.

Odivelas University Residence

Located next to the Monastery of Odivelas, the residence offers 100 single rooms and 52 twin rooms, all with private bathrooms, shared kitchens, study rooms, common areas and laundry facilities. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from Odivelas Metro Station, with direct access to the Iscte campus.

Who can apply

Accommodation is primarily intended for displaced students, especially scholarship holders. Exchange students and other members of the academic community may also be eligible, subject to the residence regulations.

How to apply

Applications are submitted online throughout this FORM.

The following groups have priority in the allocation of places:

•          Displaced students already in accommodation during the 2025/2026 academic year (renewals);
•        Iscte students who are displaced and hold scholarship status from the Instituto Ensino Superior, I.P. (formerly DGES), and students in situations of humanitarian emergency;
•         Other Iscte students, including those participating in the ERASMUS+ Programme, the “European University” network, or other international mobility agreements established with Iscte.
