Professor Helena Carreiras took office as Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Aliance Pioneer – the latter area was already under her purview.
The inauguration ceremony took place on 22 September, in the presence of the Rector of Iscte Maria de Lurdes Rodrigues and the former head of Internationalisation, Maria das Dores Guerreiro, who has since retired.

Professor Helena Carreiras has an extensive curriculum as a Full Professor at Iscte and researcher in the areas of sociology, public policy and social research methodology, having also served as Minister of Defence in the Portuguese Government.
