Helena Carreiras, Vice-Rector for the PIONEER Alliance, and Alejandra Ortiz, Director of International Relations, are representing Iscte, as a member of the PIONEER Alliance, at the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Fair and Conference, which is taking place this month in Gothenburg. More than just a slogan, the 2025 theme ‘GO-create’ is a call to action.
From 9 to 12 September 2025, in Gothenburg, Sweden, cooperation will be developed in terms of PIONEER Alliance activities, ERASMUS projects and other common interests. Examples include the prospect of creating inclusive classrooms, co-leadership and partnerships in the transformation of international higher education.
The week's programme is packed with activities that reflect the call to action and cooperation, and participants are encouraged to apply what they have learned in collaboration with their networks in their home countries. The conference programme also promises interactive formats, joint presentations, practical sessions and keynote speakers who challenge and inspire. More than 6,000 participants are expected to attend.
There are currently more than 570 universities across Europe involved in over 60 university alliances. The European Universities Initiative (EUI) is a visionary effort to create transnational alliances that reimagine what universities can achieve together.
