The Data Science Mission Group was created by Rectoral order, and the team includes members from the 4 Iscte schools. In addition to specific skills, it is characterised by enthusiasm, respect, and collegiality.

Diana E. Aldea Mendes is an 
associate professor at the Department of Quantitative Management Methods
and Economics, Iscte-IUL, Lisbon, Portugal. Coordinates the mission group.

Ana de Almeida
has a PhD in Applied Mathematics and a specialisation in
Computer Science. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science and Technologies at Iscte-Instituto Universitário de
Lisbon, Portugal, and Director of the Degree in Data Science. His research interests include Algorithmics, Complexity Theory, Modelling, Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition, with a current focus on Machine Learning and Evolutionary Computation. She has chaired or co-chaired important international conferences in Complexity Sciences and Informatics. She has participated as a researcher and coordinator in fundamental and applied research projects, as well as in research and innovation projects between academia and industry, both nationally and internationally. He is a senior member of IEEE and a founding member of IEEE IMS.

Anabela Costa has, since 1989, been teaching and researching at
Iscte in the areas of Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics,
Data Science (Linear Regression; Decision Trees; Networks Neural;
Association Rules) and Evaluation of
Investment Projects (Monte Carlo Simulation; Dynamic Programming;
Binomial Tree Approximations).

Catarina Marques has
a PhD in Quantitative Methods with specialisation in
Statistics and Data Analysis. She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Quantitative Methods for Management and Economics at Iscte and director of the degree in Data Science. His research interests focus on stochastic modelling and data analytics, especially Monte Carlo Simulation Methods, Unsupervised Learning Methods and Structural Equation Models. He has developed applied research in the areas of Marketing, Tourism, Management, Social Sciences and Psychology.

Elsa Cardoso is
Assistant Professor at the Department of Sciences and Technologies at Iscte.
She is a researcher at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology
(CIES-IUL) and at INESC-ID Lisbon. His research interests include business intelligence and analytics, data visualisation, data warehouse, and strategic information systems applied to Higher Education, Health and Digital Humanities.

João Guerreiro, PhD in Marketing (ISCTE-IUL, Portugal), Assistant Professor of Marketing and Deputy Director of BRU. He also teaches at INDEG on executive training programmes in Marketing Intelligence and Digital Transformation. His research interests focus on Business Intelligence, Neuromarketing, Consumer Behaviour and Relationship Marketing, particularly the implications of technologies (Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, IoT) for marketing, on which he has published articles in various academic journals such as *Tourism Management*, *Journal of Business Research*, *Journal of Sustainable Tourism* and *Journal of Business Ethics*, amongst others. He was Director of the Master's in Marketing at ISCTE-IUL between 2017 and 2020 and has worked as a senior consultant on Business Intelligence projects throughout his professional career.

Patrícia Ávila. PhD and Master's degree in Sociology. Associate Professor in the Department of Social Research Methods at the School of Sociology and Public Policy, Iscte. Research Fellow at CIES-Iscte.

Rosário D. Laureano is an Assistant Professor at Iscte – Lisbon University Institute, where she teaches multivariable calculus, multi-criteria analysis, non-linear optimisation and complex systems modelling in the Department of Mathematics. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from IST – Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, and a PhD in Quantitative Methods, specialising in Mathematics, from Iscte. Her research interests include the synchronisation and control of chaotic dynamic systems, quantum dynamics, optimisation methods, complex networks, and the analysis of errors in mathematics learning; she is a researcher at ISTAR – Centre for Research in Information Sciences, Technologies and Architecture. Since 2018, she has been the coordinator of the CCM – Complexity and Computational Modelling research group at ISTAR – Centre for Research in Information Science, Technologies and Architecture, and a member of the Executive Committee and the Scientific Council of this research unit. She is a co-founder of the Portugal Chapter of the Network Science Society.

Sérgio Moro is an Associate Professor with Full Professorship at Iscte. He is the Director of the Master's programme in Data Science. Sérgio is an interdisciplinary data scientist who seeks to uncover patterns that lead to innovative insights through data-driven approaches. He conducts applied research across a range of fields, including tourism, marketing, education and human resources, amongst others.
