Holders of double-certification vocational diploma

Decree-Law n.º 11/2020 established special admission competitions for access to higher education for holders of dual-certification secondary education courses and specialized artistic courses.

According to this legislation, the following applicants are eligible for this admission route:

• Professional Courses;
• Apprenticeship Courses;
• Education and Training Courses for Young People;
• Sector-specific courses offered within the Tourism of Portugal, I.P. school network;
• Specialized Artistic Courses;
• Vocational Training Courses under the Youth Integration Training Programme of the Autonomous Region of the Azores;
• Secondary-level Specialized Artistic Courses in the field of Music;
• Courses from a European Union Member State that are legally equivalent to Portuguese secondary education, provide both academic and professional certification (dual certification), and award Level 4 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF);
• Other non-Portuguese courses legally equivalent to Portuguese secondary education that provide both academic and professional certification (dual certification).

All applicants eligible for this competition who wish to apply to an Iscte Bachelor's (Licenciatura) Degree or Integrated Master's (Mestrado Integrado) Degree must take:

• A Literacy assessment test, common to all Iscte Bachelor's and Integrated Master's programmes, designed to assess reading comprehension and text interpretation skills, numerical literacy, and abstract reasoning ability.

In addition to the literacy test, applicants to the following programmes offered by the School of Management*, School of Technology and Architecture**, and Iscte-Sintra*** must also take:

• A Mathematics assessment test, mandatory for applicants to: Data Science*, Economics*, Management*, Finance and Accounting*, Industrial Management and Logistics*, Marketing Management*, Applied Mathematics for Economics and Finance**, Telecommunications and Computer Engineering**, Computer Engineering**, Information Systems and Business Management**, Software Development and Applications***, Applied Mathematics and Digital Technologies***, Politics, Economics and Society***, Digital Technologies and Automation***, Digital Technologies and Management***, Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence***, Digital Technologies and Health***, Digital Technologies and Information Security***, Digital Technologies and Sustainable Built Environment***.

A Descriptive Geometry assessment test, mandatory for applicants to the Integrated Master's Degree in Architecture**.

When completing the online registration in Fénix, applicants must:

• Complete the required personal and academic information.
• Upload documentary evidence that they hold a secondary-level dual-certification qualification or a specialised artistic course qualification.*
• Upload documentary evidence that they are currently attending the final year of a secondary-level dual-certification programme or a specialised artistic course.*

REGISTRATION FROM APRIL 15 TO MAY 13, 2026

Online submission of registration for the admission tests until 5:00 p.m. (Portugal time).

Duration | 90 minutes with 30 of tolerance.

Grading scheme | 0 to 200 points.

Minimum passing grade | 95 points.

For programmes that require a specific test, each component of the Iscte Admission Tests (the Literacy Test and the Specific Test) is graded on a scale of 0 to 100 points. In these cases, applicants must obtain a minimum score of 47.5 points in each test.

Mathematics and Descriptive Geometry Tests | The use of a calculator is not considered essential. However, applicants may use any type of calculator permitted in the Portuguese national secondary education tests, should they wish to do so.

In assessing the suitability of applicants from vocational secondary education pathways for higher education studies, the following elements are considered cumulatively:

• The applicant's final course grade, which accounts for 50% of the final admission score;
• The grades obtained in the final examinations of the programme, which account for 20% of the final admission score;
• The grade obtained in the Iscte tests, which accounts for 30% of the final admission score.

Application grade

In accordance with Article 14(4) of the Specific Regulations governing this special admission competition (see Order No. 29/2021 below), the admission score for applicants is calculated based on the following components:

• Final course grade – 50%
• Grades obtained in the examinations referred to in Article 13-C(1)(b) of Decree-Law No. 113/2014 of 16 July, as amended – 20%
• Grade obtained in the Iscte Admission Tests (Literacy Test or Literacy Test + Specific Test) – 30%
