Neste trabalho procurou-se numa primeira etapa uma articulação interdisciplinar entre a antropologia e a psicanálise procurando compreender a representação dramática enquanto processo que inclui entre as suas múltiplas vertentes a possibilidade de ser também um processo psicoterapêutico sem ficar restringido a essa função e, numa segunda etapa, analisar a forma como se articulam corpo e verbo na performance teatral. Defendemos que a relação de intersubjetividade subjacente à dimensão terapêutica da performance articula a psique individual com as regras não escritas da cultura de pertença. No palco o ritual em cena permite transcender as classificações, juízos e rótulos que o conhecimento de senso comum espontâneo engendra sobre a doença mental na esfera social. As suas repercussões afetam três níveis fundamentais do funcionamento humano: o psicológico, o neurobiológico e o relacional. A dor psicológica que afeta os atores-pacientes é expressa através de uma dramaturgia onde a identidade pessoal é construída como resultado das reações e relações com outras pessoas procurando traduzir uma experiência individual e privada quase inominável numa linguagem portadora de significados que sejam suscetíveis de uma compreensão empática por parte das suas múltiplas audiências: o médico, a família, as redes de sociabilidade e a sociedade em geral.

In this thesis we tried, on a first stage, an interdisciplinary articulation between anthropology and psychoanalysis in order to understand the dramatic representation as a process that includes in its multiple strands the possibility of being also a psychotherapeutic process without being restrained to that function and, on a second stage, to analyze the way in which body and word articulate with each other in the theatrical performance. We advance that the relationship of intersubjectivity underlying the therapeutic dimension of the performance articulates the individual psyche with the unwritten rules of the culture to which one belongs. In the stage the ritual presentation allows to transcend the classifications, judgments and labels that the spontaneous common sense knowledge begets on mental illness in the social sphere. Its repercussions affect three fundamental levels of human functioning: the psychological, the neurobiological and the relational. The psychological pain that affects the actor-patients is expressed by a dramaturgy where the personal identity is constructed as a result of reactions and relationships with other persons trying to translate an individual and private experience almost unnamable into a language that contains meanings that are susceptible of empathy and understanding on behalf of its multiple audiences: the doctor, the family, social networks and society in general.
