Esta dissertação irá abordar processos de socialização que levam ao desenvolvimento social de um indivíduo na sociedade moderna. Tenderá para um contexto da sociedade portuguesa, porém poderá aplicar-se, também, a um contexto das sociedades modernas em geral.
A investigação empírica foi realizada no meio familiar, através de entrevistas individuais e focus group, a fim de se tentar captar a visão dos indivíduos dentro dos sistemas familiar e escolar, quanto às suas escolhas profissionais. Deste modo, pretende-se identificar algumas influências aos níveis familiar e social, que tiveram a sua importância na construção do papel profissional que estão ou irão desempenhar no futuro na sociedade.

This dissertation will address socialization processes that lead to the social development of an individual in modern society. It will tend towards a context of Portuguese society, but it may also apply to a context of modern societies in general.
The empirical investigation was conducted in the family, through individual interviews and focus group, in order to try to capture the view of individuals within the family and school systems, regarding their professional choices. Thus, it is intended to identify some influences at the family and social levels, which had their importance in building the professional role that they are or will play in the future in society.
