Atualmente o envelhecimento representa um dos fenómenos demográficos mais preocupantes das sociedades modernas do século XXI, já que se trata de um fenómeno com marcas ao nível socioeconómico e com impacto no desenho das políticas sociais. O envelhecimento acarreta consigo alguns problemas como o isolamento social e a solidão. O isolamento social é uma forma de exclusão social, que tanto em meio rural como urbano, é vivido por pessoas idosas.
Pretende-se com a presente proposta de projeto combater o isolamento social e a solidão das pessoas idosas residentes no concelho de Estremoz. É objetivo do projeto promover a qualidade de vida das pessoas idosas residentes no concelho de Estremoz, através do estabelecimento de relações intergeracionias. Através de uma perspetiva intergeracional, pretende-se fomentar relações entre os idosos e os jovens, aproximar as gerações e ainda promover o bem-estar dos idosos.

Nowadays, ageing is one of the most worrying demographic phenomena in modern societies of the 21st century, since it is a phenomenon with socioeconomic marks and with an impact on the design of social policies. Ageing brings with it problems such as social isolation and loneliness. Social isolation is a form of social exclusion, which in rural as well as urban areas is experienced by elderly people.
The aim of this project proposal is to combat the social isolation and loneliness of elderly people living in the municipality of Estremoz. The objective of the project is to promote the quality of life of elderly people living in the municipality of Estremoz, through the establishment of intergenerational relationships. Through an intergenerational perspective, the aim is to foster relationships between the elderly and the young, to bring the generations together and to promote the well-being of the elderly.
