Com este estudo pretendemos investigar de que forma o Significado do Trabalho e as Redes Sociais influenciam o Burnout numa população específica: Os Guardas Prisionais. Com uma
amostra de 161 guardas prisionais e recorrendo a análise de redes sociais e uma nova medida
do significado do trabalho, identificámos um modelo estrutural que revela o papel mediador
do significado do trabalho na relação entre a manipulação, as redes sociais e o burnout.

With this study, we endeavor to research in which way the Meaning of Work and Social
Networks influence the Burnout syndrome in a characteristic occupation: Correctional
Officers. With a sample of 161 correctional officers and resourcing to social network
analysis, and a new measure of the Meaning of Work, we identified a structural model that indicates that meaning of work is a mediator between manipulation, social networks, and
burnout.
