Esta pesquisa propôs-se a avaliar o empreendedorismo na Capital Amazonense. É relevante devido à inexistência de literatura significativa na Região Norte sobre o empreendedorismo. O acervo literário brasileiro disponível aborda de forma genérica as principais metrópoles que se localizam nas Regiões Sul, Sudeste e Nordeste do Brasil. Não há nenhuma pesquisa da Região Norte, onde se localiza o Estado do Amazonas e a cidade de Manaus, que constitui nosso objeto de estudo. Daí a importância deste estudo que contará com o fator inédito que é a inexistência de registro sobre este assunto.

This research was elaborated to evaluate entrepreneurship in the Capital of the Amazon State, Brazil. Its relevance is due to the non-existent literature in the subject of entrepreneurship, in the Northern Region of Brazil. The available Brazilian literary archive comprehends only the main cities located in the Southern and Northeastern Regions of the country. There is no research in the Northern Region – where the Amazon State and its Capital, Manaus, are found – and thus lies the reason for this study and the importance of such initiative that encompasses the unprecedented factor that is the lack of registry.
