O estudo debruça-se sobre o papel das leiloeiras e a função das mesmas dentro do ecossistema dos mercados da arte, abordando as tendências mais recentes do mercado leiloeiro a nível global, mais propriamente o crescimento da transição para o digital e a venda online. A reflexão, por sua vez, baseia-se num estágio profissional que acompanhou de perto centenas de peças dentro da leiloeira do Palácio do Correio Velho.

This report is divided into two parts, the first performs a study of the auction market and the second develops a reflection based on the functioning of the auction house. The study focuses on the role of auction houses and their function within the ecosystem of art markets, addressing the most recent trends in the auction market globally, specifically the growth of the transition to digital and online sales. The reflection, in turn, is based on a professional internship that closely followed hundreds of pieces inside the auction house of the Palácio do Correio Velho.
