O objetivo desta dissertação consiste em apresentar e testar a hipótese da neutralidade da moeda no longo prazo para o Brasil, para isso recorrendo a uma profunda análise sobre a teoria que fundamenta tal pensamento e utilizando a metodologia mais aplica e estudada pelos mais diversos acadêmicos e sobre as mais diversas economias. Os resultados apresentados em todos os testes são muito reveladores e corrobora e muito com a teoria central deste estudo, fazendo deste trabalho mais robusto. Ao final do trabalho será possível ter uma resposta à questão fundamental e fazer algumas conclusões acerca da politica monetária que melhor pode atender a essa economia.

The objetive for this dissertation is to present and test the hypothesis of monetary neutrality in the long run for Brazil, using a deep analysis of the theory that underlies such thinking and using the methodology most applied and studied by the most diverse academics and on the most diverse economies. The results presented in all tests are very revealing and corroborate very much with the central theory of this study, making this work more robust. At the end of the work it will be possible to have an answer to the fundamental question and to make some conclusions about the monetary policy that can best serve this economy.
