O presente projeto aborda a matéria de problem-solving, apresentando contributos a partir de
uma Systematic Literature Review. Pretende-se contribuir para a discussão sobre como devem
as organizações endereçar os problemas que enfrentam, os quais podem ter diferentes graus de
complexidade, origens mais ou menos claras ou exigir mais ou menos transformações ao
contexto organizacional. Adicionalmente, verificam-se hoje fatores extrínsecos relevantíssimos
para as organizações, nomeadamente os resultantes do mundo VUCA. Não são de somenos os
efeitos desses fatores na sociedade, nomeadamente no plano tecnológico, social e ambiental,
com impacto sobre as organizações a vários níveis. Estas têm hoje de estar mais preparadas do
que nunca para a constante mutação do universo que as rodeia. Para isso, o recurso a
ferramentas de estratégia, que apoiem a antecipação e resposta aos novos desafios, são
fundamentais. Identificar-se-ão algumas ferramentas, com enfoque na resolução de problemas,
úteis para responder aos novos desafios, designadamente a importância da efetiva definição e
compreensão do problema, a mitigação de bias, o recurso a mecanismos de reframing, a
utilização de frameworks, a identificação de métodos organizacionais e o recurso a fontes
externas às organizações.

This project addresses the issue of problem-solving, presenting contributions from a Systematic
Literature Review. The goal is to contribute to the discussion on how organizations should
address the problems they face, which can have different levels of complexity, more or less
clear origins, or require more or less organizational transformations. Additionally, there are
today highly relevant extrinsic factors for organizations, namely those resulting from the VUCA
world. The effects of these factors on society, particularly in the technological, social, and
environmental spheres, have a widespread impact on organizations at various levels.
Organizations today must be better prepared than ever for the constant mutation of the universe
around them. To this end, the use of strategy tools that support anticipation and response to new
challenges is fundamental. Some useful tools, with a focus on problem-solving, will be
identified to address these new challenges, notably the importance of effective problem
definition and understanding, mitigation of bias, the use of reframing mechanisms, the use of
frameworks, the identification of organizational methods and the recourse to external sources
outside the organizations.
