O insucesso escolar é um fenómeno existente no sistema educativo angolano. Devido à
estratificação da sociedade, as escolas continuam a refletir diferenças sociais existentes. As
desigualdades sociais e Insucesso escolar são o fulcro da nossa pesquisa focando o meio
socioeconómico do aluno e a relação meio com o sucesso escolar.
Neste trabalho temos como objetivo saber a influência (ou não) do estatuto
socioeconómico cultural e familiar no sucesso ou insucesso do aluno. Questionamos se o nível
de instrução e a profissão dos pais condicionam o percurso escolar dos alunos. Concluímos que
a tendência para se ser bem-sucedido nos estudos é maior quanto mais elevado é o estatuto
social e familiar.

School failure is an existing phenomenon in the Angolan education system. Due to the
stratification of society, schools continue to reflect existing social differences. In Angola there
is an almost insurmountable abyss between the educated and economically stable classes, who
are the minority, and the economically disadvantaged classes, with the highest number of
children outside the educational system.
Social inequalities and school failure are the focus of our research, focusing on the
student's socioeconomic background and the relationship between the environment and school
success. In this work we have as objective to know the influence (or not) of the socioeconomic,
cultural and familiar status in the success or failure of the student. We question whether the
level of education and the profession of the parents condition the students' schooling. We
conclude that the tendency to be successful in studies is greater the higher the social and family
status.
